Here’s Your First Look at the Professor in ‘Money Heist: Korea’
You’ve already seen the iconic red jumpsuit and mask; now, get ready for your first look at the most integral character of Money Heist: Korea — Joint Economic Area, the Professor. Played in the original Spanish series by Álvaro Morte, Yoo Ji-tae takes up the mantle for the new thriller.
Money Heist: Korea — Joint Economic Area is inspired by the Spanish hit La Casa De Papel, about a group of strangers who band together to steal money from the Spanish mint. They all wear the same uniform — a red jumpsuit and a Salvador Dalí mask — and they know one another only by their city-themed code names, themes that continue in the Korean version. The new series takes place in a future where North and South Korea are on the verge of peaceful reunification. As they make preparations to print a new unified currency, the enigmatic Professor assembles a gang of skilled thieves from both the North and South to steal the new cash straight from the mint.
Naturally, Yoo Ji-tae’s Professor has all of the most important qualities of the character, who is the mastermind of the plan. Glasses? Check. Smoldering stare? Check. Intense and detailed knowledge of every possible outcome that could occur during the heist? We’re assuming it’s a check, although we’ll have to wait until June 24, when the series premieres, to find out for sure.
